About Mind Body & Spiritworks

Mind Body & Spiritworks is the natural outgrowth of the original Mind & Bodyworks, established in 1999 by Tonya Parker to provide therapeutic massage and bodywork. The current name more fully embraces the concept of Tonya’s Natural Health Ministry and the scope of services provided, including Swedish, deep tissue and connective tissue massage, seated massage, Reiki, Holistic wellness consulting, educational services including a weekly natural health e-note, healthy cooking and catering, and partnering with Conscious Living Services to provide their line of products designed to awaken the mind, body and spirit.

Tonya Parker has both a masters and educational specialist degree in Counseling from The College of William and Mary. She practiced as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and served as a Prevention Specialist and Corporate Trainer for many years. She is a graduate of the Virginia Academy of Massage Therapy and is certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. A member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals, Tonya also earned a Natural Wellness Certificate from Clayton College of Natural Health. Currently she is a candidate in CCNH's Doctor of Naturopathy for Healthcare Professionals degree program. A Reiki Master Practitioner, Tonya has received additional training in soft tissue injury repair, myofascial pain management, shamanic and spiritual healing, women's health, medicinal aromatherapy, conflict resolution, human resources management, and ethics. For several years Tonya has taught subjects such as counseling, massage and public speaking at various colleges and universities and trained in corporate and community settings. She has contributed to various newsletters and anthologies and is working on a book based on her Natural Sistah’s News e-notes.
